Do you require payment upfront?

We accept secure electronic payments. Card payments are processed through our payment provider. SEMS Cleaning Co. does not store full credit card numbers directly.
Are your cleaners employees or independent contractors?
SEMS Cleaning Co. works with independent cleaning professionals. Cleaners are expected to follow SEMS Cleaning Co. service standards, job instructions, and quality expectations.

Are you insured and bonded?
Yes. SEMS Cleaning Co. carries commercial general liability insurance ($1,000,000 per occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate) and is bonded ($25,000) — for your protection and peace of mind. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No. Many customers provide secure access instructions, such as a lockbox, smart lock code, gate code, or other approved entry method. Please make sure access instructions are accurate before the appointment.
What happens if the cleaner cannot access the property?
If the cleaner cannot access the property due to incorrect codes, locked gates, missing keys, or unclear instructions, the appointment may be delayed, rescheduled, or subject to a fee.
Can I leave special instructions?
Yes. Please include any special instructions when requesting service. This may include parking notes, gate codes, pet instructions, areas to avoid, preferred products, fragile items, or priority tasks.
Do you clean homes with pets?
Yes, but please let us know ahead of time if pets will be present. Pets should be secured if there is any chance they may escape, become aggressive, or interfere with the cleaning.
What is not included in a standard cleaning?
Standard cleaning usually does not include heavy-duty restoration, mold removal, pest cleanup, biohazard cleanup, hoarding conditions, exterior windows, carpet shampooing, or moving heavy furniture unless specifically agreed to beforehand.
Do you move furniture?
Cleaners may move light items when reasonable, but they are not required to move heavy furniture, appliances, or unsafe items.
What if something is damaged or missing?
Please contact SEMS Cleaning Co. as soon as possible with details and photos. We'll review the issue and determine the appropriate next steps.
Do you take before and after photos?
For certain jobs — especially short-term rental turnovers, move-out cleanings, and quality-control situations — photos may be used to document the condition of the property and the completed work.
Can I book recurring cleaning?
Yes. Recurring cleaning may be available weekly, biweekly, monthly, or on a custom schedule depending on availability.
Can you clean commercial spaces?
Yes. We may provide cleaning for small offices, business spaces, and commercial properties. Pricing and availability depend on the type of business, square footage, schedule, and cleaning requirements.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please contact us as early as possible. Late cancellations or last-minute rescheduling may be subject to a fee, especially if a cleaner has already accepted or traveled to the job.
